Attention Brides to Be!

From next Thursday 22nd – Sunday 25th March 2012, I will be at Craft Central in Clerkenwell at this years ultimate Handmade Wedding Fair “Craft Central Gets Hitched”

I’ve been working with accessories designer Katie Carter on a range of vintage inspired Bridal hats, headpieces, veils and stoles. There will also be lots of pieces for bridesmaids, Mothers of the bride/groom and also Wedding guests.

We will be providing a full made to order service so come down for some inspiration, to try some things on or just to talk to us about any ideas you have!

Two Thousand & Twelve

I’ve been told that you can wish people a ‘Happy New Year’ for the whole of January, so as today is January the 31st I thought I should get a move on, write a blog post and say

H A P P Y  N E W  Y E A R !

It’s been a hectic but exciting new start to the year. I’ve been producing a few more pieces for Gossip Girl, have moved out of my tiny box room at home and into a new studio in London Fields, Hackney, and as of next Monday will be a new seller on Boticca.com.

Have also got some exciting collaborations planned this year which I’m very much looking forward to, and by the end of February will have a brand new website!

Lots to do, but in the meantime here are a few pics of my new studio…

Flash Christmas Sale!

On Thursday 15th December between 6-9pm, I will be hosting a Flash Christmas Sale at my home studio in Walthamstow.

I’ll have a range of reduced price hats, headpieces and accessories perfect for the festive party season! I’ll also be joined by guest artists who will be selling Christmas cards and stocking fillers, plus gorgeous food hampers by Isle Of Olive (http://www.isleofolive.co.uk). Complimentary mulled wine, mince pies and nibbles will be available to get you in the festive mood

Gossip Girl

It’s been an exciting start to the week at a_m_f_m (and particularly exciting if you are a Gossip Girl fan!). A few weeks ago I started working with the costume designers at Gossip Girl in New York to produce some hats and headpieces for the character Blair and also for the guests at her upcoming Royal Wedding.

The first hat they liked was a green and mustard wool brocade beret. Here it is pictured on the lovely Leighton Meester…

 

Made In Clerkenwell Winter 2011

I’m going to be exhibiting at this year’s Made In Clerkenwell Open Studios event from the 24th- 27th November. The place will be jam packed with over 100 designers with work ranging from illustration to shoe design, making it the perfect place to do a spot of Christmas shopping.

As well as exhibiting my current collection, I’ll also have lots of previous sample pieces that will be on offer at a reduced price!

Some New Stockists…

From September until the end of December, my hats will be available to buy at The Mailbox Mall in Birmingham as part of a luxury shopping event called ‘The Style Renaissance’. A treasure chest for trend-setters, the marketplace will feature an impressive selection of designers, vintage and couture fashion, costume jewellery, lavish gifts and of course millinery! I’ve also shipped off a big box of hats all the way to The Tayberry Gallery in bonnie Scotland! The gallery houses a mixture of mainly Scottish makers and artists work including jewellery, ceramics, painting, wood, textiles, photography and glass. Owner, Sarah Spalding is a contemporary jeweller and her workshop is situated at the back of the gallery so the public can see where some of the magic happens!

Farewell Summer…

After a busy but wonderful Summer spent working on various Wedding commissions, re-stocking some London stores, exploring the surreal Isle of Rum in the Hebrides, setting up a Bridal label, back packing around Greece and finally learning how to drive, I’ve now got to pull my sleeves up and sew faster and more furiously than ever before!

I’m currently working on producing stock for 3 new stockists and an exhibition, designing a new logo and packaging and trying to prepare for a few Christmas shows. Phew!

You can expect to find a vast array of Summery goodness to brighten up your wardrobe & your home, ranging from jewellery, neon illustrations, delicate ceramics and the most amazing printed furniture by organiser Jo Gibbs. They will also be stocking a few of my colourful silk and straw berets and pillboxes.
